Tenby and County Club (sponsored by LG Leisure and Get Stuffed Pizza Co) travelled to the Star Club in Pembroke Dock, on Monday evening, for their penultimate league match and were 3-2 winners.
The first frame saw returning captain Glyn Davies take on L. Goldsmith. Glyn started like he had never been away, potting balls from everywhere. After only six reds he was 40 points up and this continued throughout as he won at a canter.
The second frame saw Mark Cleevely take on J. Abbott. Similar to the first frame, Mark was potting everything, which included breaks of 37, 28 and 24, to win easily.
The third frame saw Kevin James take on M. Rees. This was a closer affair, with both players potting well, but it was Kevin's recent good form that carried him over the line this time, winning on the green.
The fourth frame saw Steve Cook play M. John. Steve (Tenby's in-form player) was not at his best on this occasion, and was leaving his opponent belated Christmas presents. Indeed, Steve quickly found himself behind and, although he rallied towards the end, his 100 per cent record went in a disappointing performance.
The last frame saw Dave Wooles play D. Lowe. This frame again was similar to the previous one, with Dave having no luck and his opponent picking up the odd pot here and there. Dave came back into it later in the frame, but his luck was clearly not there!
