After the recent rain, it was with some surprise that a beautiful sunny autumnal day greeted the 14 ramblers when they gathered together at Bedd Morris near Newport on Sunday, October 12, for a 14-mile walk led by Graham Morgan.
Taking initially the path to Carn Ingli, the party turned south and walked past the outcrop of Carn Edward before proceeding downhill to the valley road by way of Penrhiw and Llanerch Farms.
Crossing over, the walkers took the lower path below Tregynon and walked in a westerly direction until they reached Dan Coed where they turned left, re-crossed the road and made their way uphill to Pengegin where lunch was taken.
Afterwards, the walk continued across the fields and inland tracks as far as Mynydd Melyn where, shortly afterwards, the party took the path to Cilrhedyn Bridge, but instead of going all the way down, turned right and made for Trellwyn-fach and eventually reached the minor road near Trellwyn.
Turning left, the party soon turned right onto inland tracks and footpaths before eventually reaching the outcrop of Mynydd Dinas where the splendid all round panoramic views were much enjoyed by the walkers before they made their way back to their cars at Bedd Morris having enjoyed a full day's walking in a particularly scenic part of Pembrokeshire.
