Pembrokeshire Primary Schools football squad started this season's Welsh Schools' campaign by taking all 12 points against South Ceredigion Schools on Sunday at Haverfordwest AFC.

Coming under the wing of Haverfordwest Academy means the squad now trains on a regular basis and the boys have benefited from playing together early on in the season.

S. Ceredigion A 1

Pembs. boys played some very good team football before captain Scott Jones put them ahead early in the first half. Jones added his second with a stunning long shot.

Relentless pressure by Pembs., playing a breathtaking style of football, led to Archie Beaumont-Denning, Jack Parkinson and Luke Raymond, all scoring before the break.

Daniel Davies and James Worral played well on either flank, while Jordan Cornick, Harry Goforth and Billy Truman all defended solidly.

Jack Broadhurst, in the Pembs. goal, had little to do in the first half.

The second half saw a revitalized S. Ceredigion side and Pembs. had to work harder. They created several chances, but could not increase their lead.

S. Ceredigion attacked well, forcing some good saves by Broadhurst, and they scored a consolation goal before the end.

Pembs. dominated most of the game and again gelled well as a squad. Goals came thick and fast from Scott Jones (3), Daniel Davies (2), Archie Beaumont-Denning, Billy Truman and Jack Parkinson.

Pembs. started out brightly, with Dafydd Bevan and Luke Billing attacking well. Patrick Pearce and Jake Davies combined well and it wasn't long before Pembs. started scoring regularly.

Several well-worked corners were slotted home, with Leon Williams scoring four goals, Patrick Pearce two and Geraint Harries and Luke Billing one apiece.

Daniel Williams and Nathan Ammesley-Rees played well in defence, with goalkeeper Liam Fienhagg keeping a clean sheet and Aaron Quilligan tackling well.

The second half performance was a stunning display of football by the whole squad.
