Some Christians in India had the worst Christmas of their lives. On December 24 and 25 in the Orissa District, 95 churches were destroyed by fire in a widespread and organised attack. At least 400 Christian homes were also destroyed.

News like this makes it clear that serious persecution of Christians is a 21st century problem. Pembrokeshire Prayer for the Suffering Church advocates a combination of prayer, giving and action.

Churches are encouraged to join the meeting wholesale, or at least send a representative who can then keep their own church informed. This month's PPSC meeting is hosted by the Christian Community Church, Narberth, and takes place at the Bloomfield Centre on Tuesday at 7.30 pm.
