TWENTY-four-year-old George Hill from Lamphey is the lead singer in a London based band named 'Fables', who are tipped to hit the big time very soon.

Fables have just been signed this weekend by the promoters of the Carew Rock Charity Concert and Festival, to be held at Carew Airfield, Saturday, August 5, with all ticket profits going to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution and the Small Faces All Children's Charity.

Fables, who are London based, are influenced by the Beatles, The Hollies, REM, The Who and U2, and have a huge fan following around the British Isles, having played venues such as the The Cavern, Liverpool, Dublin Castle, Turnmills in London, and many more.

The five-piece band have an EP CD out entitled 'Billiards and Bombs'. The band writes all of its own material.

Fables includes Nin on bass guitar, Amir on guitar, Jonnie on lead guitar, Peter on drums, and George Hill lead vocals.

George's parents, Ruth and Granville Hill, own and run the famous Dial Inn pub, restaurant and hotel in Lamphey.

The promoters of Carew Rock, which is being headlined by The Jones Gang, led by Kenney Jones from The Small Faces, Rod Stewart and the Faces and The Who, saw and heard Fables over the weekend and immediately booked them to appear at the concert, having been impressed by their material, sound and their style.

The concert promoters say that they are very sure, that Fables are destined in the very near future to be a major band.
