St. David's Bishop's Palace in Pembrokeshire, which recently won a European conservation award, not only features in the new 2011 Cadw calendar, but also makes a starring role on the cover!

Featuring some of the best-known historic sites in Wales, the calendar, which is priced at £8.95 and available to buy from most Cadw sites also includes scenic photographs of Kidwelly Castle and Dryslwyn Castle in Carmarthenshire, Neath Abbey; Tretower Court in Brecknockshire; Beaumaris Castle on Anglesey; Cymer Abbey in Gwynedd; Valle Crucis Abbey and Rhuddlan Castle in North East Wales and Raglan Castle, Ogmore Castle and St. Lythans Burial Chamber in South East Wales.

Diane Williams, head of Cadw Publications, said: "We commissioned some stunning new photography this year and are very pleased with the finished calendar.

"As well as featuring some of Wales' most visited sites such as Beaumaris and Kidwelly Castles, we've also photographed some of the 'hidden jewels' in our care such as the serene ruins of Cymer Abbey and the fascinating St. Lythans Burial Chamber, near Barry, Vale of Glamorgan. The calendar is a perfect pictorial accompaniment for any busy household or office wall."
