Pembrokeshire schoolchildren have been puckering up - to learn vital life saving skills. The Tavernspite CP School pupils learned how to give the kiss of life as part of a beach safety day organised by Angela Burns AM and the Royal Life Saving Society. Pupils from Year Six watched a life-saving demonstration by the Welsh Surf Life Saving Association in the sea off Amroth beach before being taught the techniques themselves. South Pembrokeshire AM Mrs. Burns said: "This is a subject which I feel passionately about because we are lucky enough to live in a county with hundreds of miles of coastline. As a result it's vitally important that our youngsters learn these basic skills which could one day save a life." Cliff Nelson from the Royal Life-Saving Society added: "There is this assumption that you should teach adults first but it's great to teach children and for knowledge to filter upwards. "You could see in their eyes that they are quicker and more attentive to teach than adults."
