September's meeting found the group as guests of Helicharter Wales at Withybush. Twelve members availed themselves of 10-minute air experience 'Taster Flights'. For several, it proved to be their first experience of rotary wing flight.
They were then shown the Jet Ranger machine in some detail by Captain Colin Larner and his team, before retreating in the gathering dusk to their comfortable lounge for refreshments and a talk on the past history and future aspirations for the future of the company.
Helicharter would welcome visits from any interested groups. The Aviation Group was received most royally and members are delighted that the airfield is being utilised more in each succeeding year.
This wrapped up a fascinating evening, with everyone remarking on the professionalism of the company and quite a few expressing thoughts of flight tokens as Christmas presents.
The October speaker is Mr. Reg Davies, of Swansea, who bailed out, was POW and endured the long march east before the advancing Russian army.
