A home visit project based in Narberth is aiming to alleviate loneliness and isolation felt by some people in the over 65s age group, by arranging regular visits.
The Welcome Visitor at Home Project is provided by Pembrokeshire charity, The Adlerian Society of Wales.
“The project arranges regular visits to people who live alone in their homes. It has been very successful, and shown a huge positive impact on the well-being of the people who have a visitor,” explained Jo Greenfield one of the project’s co-ordinators.
“It can make a real difference just to hear another person’s voice on the phone or have a welcome visitor to share a cuppa and a chat.
“Our team of visitors has recently been extended which means more clients can now have visits in Pembrokeshire.
“If you know somebody in our community who would enjoy having a weekly visitor, perhaps an elderly neighbour, then please get in touch,” added Jo.
