A Pembrokeshire-based glamping company has enlisted the support of Business Wales to implement new sustainability practices, including upcycling airbeds and turning them into merchandise. The company's latest green initiative is a partnership with Ecoast, a shop located in Saundersfoot, that specialises in recycled products.
Ecoast collects damaged airbeds from Nights Under Canvas and sends them onto British upcycling brand, Recycling Rachel, who then reworks the materials into a range of Nights Under Canvas merchandise including washbags, wallets, purses and bumbags which can then be sold in store.
Family-owned and operated, Nights Under Canvas specialises in high-quality tent-for-hire services for corporate events, festivals, weddings, parties, movie nights and staycations.
Having registered with Business Wales’ Green Growth Pledge, an initiative that supports Welsh businesses to improve their sustainability efforts and make a positive impact on the environment, the award-winning glamping company has worked with experts from Business Wales to identify and implement new sustainability practices into their operations.
Working with Business Wales Decarbonisation Adviser, Sarah Gore, Nights Under Canvas has implemented several conscious initiatives including sourcing from local suppliers, using efficient methods of transporting its bell tents, and responsible waste management.

Owner of Nights Under Canvas, Steven Bradley, is continuing to work with Business Wales to find other ways to reduce its carbon emissions and build on its existing partnerships with local suppliers and venues.
Speaking about the support received, Steven said: “I’ve always had a deep appreciation for the environment, so finding ways that we could improve on our sustainability efforts and reduce our carbon footprint was a major priority for us.
“Sarah’s support has been invaluable and has helped us to make a meaningful impact within our business and community. We are so happy that we have the opportunity to not only reduce our waste but upcycle our airbeds into something new for our customers.”
