Pembrokeshire department store and singing penguins raise whopping amount for Children’s Bereavement Charity

Pembrokeshire’s Vincent Davies Department Store recently presented their ‘Charity Of The Year 2022’ - Sandy Bear Children’s Bereavement Charity, with a huge cheque for £8,013.53!

The Charity provides a service to all children and young people up to 18 years who have suffered, or who are likely to suffer a bereavement and live in Pembrokeshire.

The Charity was voted for by the whole team at Vincent Davies and fundraising included - bake sales, a quiz night, collection boxes, decorate a Christmas tree, staff sales, Christmas jumper days and not to forget the charity singing penguin trio!

Hannah Beer, charity co-ordinator at Sandy Bear said: “It has been such a pleasure to work with Vincent Davies Department Store throughout 2022 and our whole team would like to say a huge thank you for our Charity Of The Year partnership.

“The staff and customers have worked so hard organising and taking part in so many fantastic events for us.

“The donation which we have received will be used on different projects and resources for the bereaved children and young people who we support”.

Sarah John, joint MD at Vincent Davies remarked: “We are immensely proud of all of the Vincent Davies team, customers, suppliers and representatives of Sandy Bear, for their efforts, commitment and generosity, resulting in the amazing grand total raised.

“We cannot forget to thank our charity singing penguins, The Snow Drifters, as their donation box contributed a brilliant amount of £3,726.15 towards the grand total raised!”.

Vincent Davies Department Store is pleased to announce that they will proudly be supporting Get The Boys A Lift for 2023 - which is a non-for-profit organisation offering free and easily accessible mental health support for the people of our community.
