Pembrokeshire County Council is inviting residents, organisations and other interested parties to have their say on proposed changes to the electoral arrangements of a number of Community Councils across the county.

The consultation forms part of a review being undertaken by the Council following recommendations published by the Democracy and Boundary Commission Cymru (DBCC) in January 2025.

The recommendations arose from the Commission's review of Pembrokeshire's communities, carried out on behalf of the Council.

While that review proposed a number of changes to community boundaries, it also included recommendations relating to the electoral arrangements of certain Community Councils where no boundary changes were proposed.

As these recommendations could not be implemented through the original review process, they are now being considered separately as part of the current review.

To ensure feedback reflects local perspectives, we are inviting input from stakeholders connected to the communities most impacted by the proposal.

They are:

  • Lamphey
  • Llanrhian
  • Martletwy
  • Nolton and Roch
  • Pencaer,
  • St Dogmaels
  • Stackpole and Castlemartin
  • Wolfscastle.

The consultation opens on Tuesday, July 28 and closes on Friday, September 11, 2026.

proposals arise from recommendations made as a part of the review by the Democracy and Boundary Commission Cymru to remove community warding arrangements within a number of communities.

It is proposed that warding arrangements be removed in the communities of Nolton and Roch, Martletwy, Pencaer, and Stackpole and Castlemartin.

A proposal has been made to cease the use of the community's English-language name of Pencaer to just the use of the name of Pen-caer.
