Judging for the annual competition took place on Monday when the Mayor, Clr. Keith McNiffe, Mr. Jeff Horner and Mrs. Christine Long viewed the participants' premises. The town council would like to thank those who took part and congratulate the following winners: Class 1 - Private Gardens: 1. Mrs. Elizabeth Cotterill, 18 Merchants Park, Pembroke; 2. Mr. John Clark, 9 Merlins Cross, Lower Lamphey Road, Pembroke. Class 2 - Commercial: 1. Golden Grove School, Orange Way, Pembroke; 2. Haven Christian Centre, 1 Westgate Hill, Pembroke. Sadly, the Pembroke and Pembroke Dock Schools Sunflower Competition, kindly sponsored by Pembroke Garden Village, has been cancelled as the poor weather has prevented the flowers from opening.
