A dedicated nurse from Pembroke Dock has been awarded the prestigious Queen’s Nurse title by the Queen’s Nursing Institute (QNI), recognising her outstanding contribution to community nursing and commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred care. Sarah Lees, Service Manager at Cartref Cleddau on Fort Road, has been honoured for her leadership, commitment to patient care, and continuous professional development.

The Queen’s Nurse title is a nationally recognised mark of excellence, awarded to nurses who demonstrate exceptional commitment in their work in community and social care settings.

Sarah leads the team at Cartref Cleddau, a specialist care service operated by Shaw healthcare, the largest employee-owned care provider in the UK. Under her leadership, the service supports individuals with complex needs in a safe, respectful, and supportive environment.

Sarah commented: “I’m incredibly proud to receive the Queen’s Nurse title. It reflects not just my work, but the commitment of the entire team at Cartref Cleddau to delivering high-quality, person-centred care. It’s a privilege to be part of a service that truly makes a difference in people’s lives.”

Sarah will travel to the Millennium Gloucester Hotel in Kensington in London on November 28 to receive her Queen’s Nurse badge and certificate at an official ceremony hosted by the Queen’s Nursing Institute.
