Pembroke Castle’s ‘Picnic Prayer and Praise’ due to take place on Sunday, September 18, will not go ahead following the passing of The Queen.

“It’s terribly disappointing but we feel this years ‘Picnic Prayer and Praise’ should not go ahead in the light of Her Majesty the Queen’s death,” explained Baptist Pastor Rob James.

“We have not taken this decision lightly but we feel we were clearly given divine guidance in reaching this decision.

“I do hope this message reaches as many people as possible and I am grateful for all the support we have received to date. We were expecting a large turnout but really feel it would be inappropriate at this particular moment in time.

“We are so thankful for all she has done, for the role model she has proved and for the way she had unashamedly declared her Christian faith and we look forward to celebrating that in an appropriate way at the appropriate time.

“My sincere apologies to all concerned for a decision that has not been easy to take but we feel is in line with what God wants,” he added.
