In the latest round of the quiz league, the Alma B set another good set of questions, reflected in the round scores. The one big shock of the round was at Cosh Brewery, where the visiting team from the Naval Club inflicted the present champions' second defeat of this year's competition which sees them drop to sixth in the league, but it's early days yet.
The Oak travelled to play the A side at the Charlton and regained the league top spot with a convincing win. At the Alma, the home A team, furnished with new Ikea pencils, and the visiting Station A went neck and neck, but after both sides tripped up on football trivia, the Station broke away to win by six points.
Meanwhile at the Station, the B team momentum continued, scoring the round's top score for the second week running. Playing against St. Govan's Inn they took the lead from the off, with the only round victory for the visitors coming in the picture round; they stepped up a gear in the next two rounds to complete an overwhelming win. In the remaining game at the First and Last, the visiting Charlton B took the spoils.
The week's results were as follows: First and Last lost to Charlton B; Charlton A 62 Oak 75; Alma A 69 Station A 75; Cosh Brewery 68 Naval Club 76; Station B 87 St. Govan's 61.
