Pembroke and Pembroke Dock Lions Club donated almost £5,000 to good causes in 2022, the charity organisation has announced.
“Your generous support has enabled the Lions to donate almost £5,000 to these local, national and international good causes,” said Pembroke and Pembroke Dock Lions secretary, Tony Wilson.
Over the last year, the Pembroke and Pembroke Dock Lions have sponsored local individuals walking in aid of the Paul Sartori Foundation, the Huntingdon’s Disease Association, Brain Injury Recovery, Coppafeel Breast Cancer Awareness; supported garden projects at Cosheston School, Ysgol Harri Tudur and Pembroke Dock Community School; sent financial and material support relief to Ukraine...
...as well as the following:
• Given to the Royal British Legion, PATCH and a children’s cancer charity
• Provided travel assistance to a local youth dance group
• Helped a local family who were being made homeless
• Sponsored a school prize for Ysgol Harri Tudur, Pembroke
• Boosted the bells restoration appeal at St Mary’s Church in Pembroke
• Supported a local riding centre for people with disabilities, a local Girl Scout going to World Jamboree, and the 3rd Pembroke Dock Guides.
“Thank you for your continued help through both support at local events and also donations to the Lions and purchases from our charity shop,” continued Tony.
“We hope that you will continue your support in 2023.”
