Homeowners in Tenby and their families enjoyed an afternoon to remember at McCarthy and Stone’s Paxton Court scheme on Tuesday, as the development celebrated its first birthday.

Local Councillor Trevor Hallett, was also in attendance at the special event, which celebrated a year since the attractive, coastal Retirement Living development with sea views over North Beach, opened its doors.

Staff and homeowners celebrated with a luxury buffet and sparkling refreshments, whilst enjoying some live music from local guitarist, Billy Cole, who played an eclectic mix of songs from the 40s, 50s and 60s.

Mrs. Alma Wingfield, 87, a homeowner who moved into a new apartment when Paxton Court first opened, and who was part of the birthday celebrations, said: “I took the decision to move to a McCarthy and Stone development because the maintenance of my previous property had become overwhelming, and I’d noticed that I simply wasn’t able to relax and enjoy my retirement years.

“The team here at Paxton Court are tremendously helpful, and it’s a weight lifted off my mind to know that I have people here who help us out with the day to day bits that were making life quite tiresome.”

In addition to the new found peace of mind experienced at Paxton Court, Alma has also been enjoying the thriving community spirit that is already well established at the coastal development.

She continued: “I love to see the world around me, and have found a group of friends here who also love to go to the theatre, art galleries, museums and the cinema.”
