A town councillor wants an expansion of the pavements on a section of road leading into Tenby.
Clr. Trevor Hallett told his colleagues at Tuesday night's meeting of the town council, that he had been approached by a lot of concerned residents regarding the footpaths along The Norton and Narberth Road.
"The pavements are insufficient for people walking along there, especially from the Telephone Exchange to The Glebe, and in particular for those with pushchairs," he said.
"It's far too narrow and quite dangerous, maybe it's something that the county council can look into as part of the Safe Routes in the Community scheme," he added.
Mayor, Clr. Mrs. Sue Lane, said that the town council had tried to tackle the problem before, even suggesting some form of pelican crossing.
Clr. Mike Thorne supported the idea and agreed that some form of crossing should be pushed for again along that section of the carriageway.
