Since the introduction of car parking charges on Narberth Town Moor car park, which remain one of the lowest in the county, residents of estates and streets have seen a huge increase in shop and office workers parking all day in locations such as the Old Keg Yard, Picton Place and St. James Street.
"I am getting more requests than ever for residents permit parking schemes and other limited actions," said County Clr. Wynne Evans.
"Even though these vehicles are legally parked, it poses great difficulty and anxiety for householders.
"On-street parking in the town is becoming limited and two more areas have requested yellow lines to be put down," he continued.
"I often find that the people who ask for yellow line markings are the ones with their own parking driveway and therefore do not fully comprehend what pressures street residents are under.
"I am to take a softly softly approach by writing to the premises in town asking them to try to convince their staff members to use the town's car park and hope this at least eases the problem."
