Sir,
Having owned a holiday home in Saundersfoot for several years, I was dismayed recently to learn that the Saundersfoot Harbour Comissioners have changed their permit policy for 2013.
Holiday home and guest house owners have previously provided complimentary permits for guests. However, the Commissioners have introduced a system whereby annual permits must now be number plate specific, resulting in visitors being unable to use any permit to park.
Saundersfoot does not possess a publicly owned car park, therefore visitors are at the mercy of the National Park and Harbour Commissioners and in the latter must now pay £35 to park for the week.
I believe that this will do little for tourism in Saundersfoot - a place where there are currently several empty retail units. Guests will now think twice about staying in Saundersfoot.
Wynne Griffiths,
Bridgend.
