Preseli Amateur Boxing Club arranged a boxing club show at Kilgetty RAOB Club recently and a packed house was treated to an excellent evening with some superb boxing.
There were eight bouts in this popular annual event. In the first bout, Dalnarrin, of Premier, Swansea, was the winner over S. Jones, of Caerau Dragons, Bridgend.
In bout two, J. Brinn, of Premier, Swansea, was the winner against A. Probert, of Whitland. In bout three, L. Sherab, of Caerau Dragons, won against J. Thomas, of Premier, Swansea, L. Powell, of Preseli, against A. Copley, of Carmarthen, in bout four, and P. Richards, of Carmarthen, in the fifth bout against J. Hartt, of Preseli.
L. Trot, of Towy, Llandillio, won the sixth bout against H. Evans, of Carmarthen, T. Hearuns, of Towy, fought an exhibition bout against J. Puzzey, Whitland, and in the last bout of the evening, Alex Hay, of Pembroke, won against C. Harries of Merthyr.
Alex Hay, of Pembroke, won the award for the best visiting boxer of the night, while Leon Powell picked up the Val Price Memorial Trophy after being declared the best Preseli boxer of the evening.

The best boxers were sponsored by Mason Bros. Plant and Machinery, of Llandewi Velfrey, the raffle prizes were donated by Clunderwen Co-op and James Williams, Narberth, whilst water for the boxers was donated by Princes Gate Spring Water.
Members of Gwent Amateur Boxing Club were involved in a road accident on their way to Kilgetty. Fortunately, no one was seriously hurt, although the boxers were shaken up and the trainer sustained a broken wrist. The Preseli Club would like to extend best wishes to the boxers and the trainer for a speedy recovery.
