Narberth continued to tighten their grip at the top of National League division two on Saturday with a comprehensive 51-11 victory over Seven Sisters.

Kicking-off at 1 pm to avoid clashing with the Wales-Ireland international in Cardiff, the Otters dominated for most of the game, outscoring their Dulais Valley hosts by seven tries to one.

The Otters took the initiative from the start, with a strong front five providing a plentiful supply of possession in the set-pieces, which allowed Andrew Bowen, Will Morgan, John Whitticombe and Andrew Jones to question the home defences in the early stages.

However, Seven Sisters were not found wanting either, and took a six-point lead - albeit a little against the run of play - when Tudor Rees slotted over two penalties.

However, Aled Davies marshalled his forces well at pivot in place of the injured Simon Daniel, and showed his kicking prowess with a neat penalty which reduced the arrears.

Veteran back row man Alan Reynolds put Narberth in front with a well-taken try and Davies added the extras.

From then on in the Otters never looked back, with two more first half tries coming from wing Andrew Jones and lock Emori Katalau.

Both touchdowns were converted by Davies to put the visitors firmly in the driving seat at the interval.

After the change around, Narberth served up more of the same, with Jones and Katalau each picking up a second try.

Davies converted both and slotted over a penalty for good measure, before Seven Sisters replied with an unconverted try.

Flying wing Jones picked up his try hat-trick - and the nod as man-of-the-match for his finishing skills and pace down the line - going into the final third and Davies enhanced the scoreline further still with the conversion.

Straight running number eight Gareth Bennett rounded off the try spree with another touchdown under the posts, but this time Davies was off target with the conversion, his place kick being charged down.

It was a thoroughly commanding performance from the Otters, with the entire team performing well as a unit to extend their unbeaten run to nine out of nine and go eight points clear at the top.

Only blackspot, however, was when centre Tevita Manesitava broke his arm in an awkward tackle and looks likely to be sidelined for about six weeks.

Tomorrow (Saturday), Narberth travel to Builth Wells for the third round of the Welsh Cup.
