Tonight (Friday,), a very special concert will be given at St. Johns Church, Tenby.

The concert, in aid of church restoration funds, will be an organ recital, given by Haverfordwest-born Philip Luke, who is currently organist and director of music at the Bloomsbury Baptist Church in London.

Philip, who has family living in Tenby and other parts of Pembrokeshire, has been director of music at the Bloomsbury Central Baptist Church for 16 years. The choir there has established an excellent reputation, appearing on television and radio, most recently on Radio 4's Sunday morning worship last month.

Philip's musical career has taken him to many parts of the world including the USA and Canada. He returns annually to Prague to give organ concerts each autumn. He also lectures and teaches.

Educated at Haverfordwest Grammar School (now Tasker Milward) and London University, Philip continued his training at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

In addition to Philip's organ recital, the concert will include performances by local musicians Andrew Cusworth on cello and Cheralyn Williams, soprano. Andrew has become a familiar figure at St. Johns Church because of his appearances at Tenby Male Choir concerts, and his many-faceted talents are not to be missed.

The concert begins at 8 pm. Entrance costs £4 and is payable at the door of the church.
