OPERA lovers will be able to enjoy a Gilbert and Sullivan favourite at the Torch Theatre, Milford Haven, next month when Opera della Luna present 'HMS Pinafore'.

In Portsmouth Harbour, preparations are well in hand aboard HMS Pinafore, for the imminent visit of the First Lord of the Admiralty - Sir Joseph Porter. He has expressed an interest in the captain's daughter as a potential consort. Although such a union would please the captain, his daughter, Josephine, has other plans. Ralph Rackstraw, a common sailor, is the object of her affections.

Opera della Luna has been on the road since 1994 and has performed at theatres, festivals and houses throughout the country and in the USA. Its policy remains to create new and innovative productions of musical theatre in English. The company last visited the Torch Theatre with acclaimed productions of 'The Ghosts of Ruddigore' and before that, 'The Mikado'.

Tickets for the performance on Thursday, APril 3, at 7.30 pm, are priced £15 (£13 discounts) and may be purchased from the theatre box office (tel: 01646 695267).
