Sir, I have been an organ donor for many years and strongly believe our attitude to organ donation is wrong. Instead of carrying a card allowing holders to use our organs, we should have a system where those who object must make the effort to opt out of the life-saving process. Organ donation is one of the greatest gifts anyone can make, but hardly any of us put our money where our mouth is and carry a donor card. There are 7,000 patients desperate for a transplant every year, but fewer than half get that operation. I say to everyone, make the effort, this way thousands will get a precious second chance of life.
Bob Lowe, Tenby.
