Sent from Tenby to South Yardley, Birmingham at 4 pm on August 29, 1961, this harbour scene in Gerald Rogers’ collection bears the following message:
“Tuesday. Pembroke. We are now having some sunshine. Last week was very windy and dull.
“Saw Jean and Brian on Sunday and they are both very well. They came for the day, so we had some fun on the beach. Hope you are well and Ruth. Holidays soon fly by so we hope for summer weather this week. J and D. Turner.”
Note the string of lights in the foreground, and the various shelters along North Walk.
