Tenby's former cottage hospital site has been purchased by a family-run South Pembrokeshire-based housebuilder.
South Meadow Homes purchased the Trafalgar Road site to build new homes at a public auction on Friday.
Guy Thomas, director of South Meadow Homes, said: "South Meadow Homes hope to programme a start on site once planning permission is granted."
He explained the company was actively building new homes in Pembroke and Pembroke Dock, while it is reopening its Penally Heights Development which it hopes to operate in tandem with the new site.
Added Mr. Thomas: "Construction is carried out in-house under the supervision of our award-winning site manager, Michael Thomas. All the craftsmen, management and professional back-up live locally. We hope the project will continue to provide local employment in producing quality homes for the future."
