Rehearsals are well under way for Saundersfoot Footlights' summer show, Oklahoma.

It was nice to see members returning to the auditions, but also to welcome new members of all ages.

The society is always keen to give members an opportunity to undertake new roles.

This year, the company is especially pleased to see Sallie Griffiths, who has been a member for several years, in her first lead role. Sallie has a lovely voice and is enjoying the role of Laurey immensely.

Supporting her, again in her first main cast role, is Leanne Algeo, who plays the part of the lively Ado Annie, and is very suited to the part!

Alongside both Sallie and Leanne is Iris Morris, who plays a sharp-witted Aunty Ella, a pillar of the community.

Footlights are also pleased to welcome back Will Oliver, who is playing the male lead Curley. He is supported by Paul Fifield playing Will Parker, Steve Butler playing Ail Hakim and Roger Lease playing a very dark Jud Fry.

Meanwhile, in the background, some wonderful colourful scenery and costumes are being created and the chorus are working hard learning songs and movement. Everyone plays a part in putting together the final show.

So, if you'd like to enjoy some live family entertainment with some foot-tapping songs, make a date in your diaries.

The show runs Monday, May 25, to Saturday, May 30, at the Regency Hall, Saundersfoot, and all performances will start at 7.30 pm. For further details, contact Helen Wright on 01646 682058.
