This month, Ocean Commotion, Tenby's very own Indoor Children's Adventure Playcentre, is celebrating its first birthday.
The centre, located in the town's Lower Frog Street, has an amazing amount of equipment stacked five levels high. The facility has everything from ball pits to a bouncy castle, spiral slides to aerial glides.
"We have had a great first year," said Cathy Jones, Ocean Commotion's owner. "When we opened we hoped the local people would visit once or twice a month, but in fact a lot of regulars visit once or twice a week. The support has been tremendous."
Ocean Commotion offers a wide range of services, including a supervised child-minding facility which allows parents to drop off their children for one-and-a-half hours while they catch up with some shopping or have a little time to themselves; a Friday night disco; a Saturday morning club; an affordable monthly ticket; and by far the most popular is its various options for birthday parties.
"We want to make everyone welcome," said Cathy, "and we are always looking for new ideas."
With this in mind Ocean Commotion has introduced a licensed restaurant.
Cathy explained: "The restaurant will secure the centre's future. Our main launch will coincide with the start of the school holidays at the end of July. We believe Ocean Commotion will be the ideal evening venue for families with children. Parents can order a glass of wine or beer with their meal and relax knowing their children can play safely."
From July 27, Ocean Commotion will be open from 10 am to 10 pm seven days a week for the duration of the school summer holidays.
