Children at a small orphanage in Thailand will soon be welcoming some cuddly friends thanks to the Tenby Observer. For we have given Tenby town councillor, John Griffiths, 10 of our teddy bears to take to the centre near Phuket when he visits there next month. Clr. Griffiths will also be taking with him the proceeds of two events which are being staged in Tenby tomorrow (Saturday) in aid of the orphanage, which is attempting to provide shelter for 1,000 young orphans. The first is a Bazaar/Jumble Sale at the De Valence Pavilion, between 11 am and 2 pm, while the second is a Charity Variety Show at the same venue. Doors open at 7 pm and curtain up is at 7.30. A number of very talented local performers have volunteered their services for what promises to be a very entertaining evening. During the interval, there will also be a raffle and several local residents have already donated some really interesting prizes. Meanwhile, anyone who has any items they would like to donate for the Bazaar/Jumble Sale is asked to drop them off at the De Valence. See other articles on this site for more news and pictures about the Pembrokeshire's response to the tsunami disaster.
