The death occurred suddenly on Monday, November 12, of Mr. Donald James Gerrie, aged 78, affectionately known as Don, of Llanteg.

He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

The death occurred at home on Tuesday, November 6, of Mr. David Eric Thomas, aged 81, of Cross Park, Pennar, Pembroke Dock, affectionately known as Dai.

The death occurred peacefully on Tuesday, November 13, at Bush House Nursing Home, Pembroke, of Mr. Vincent William Thompson, affectionately known as 'Micky', of Bush Street, Pembroke Dock.

Aged 82, he will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

The funeral service will take place on Thursday, November 22, at St. Johns Church, Pembroke Dock, at 2 pm, followed by interment at Llanion Cemetery.

The death occurred peacefully at Morriston Hospital on Saturday, November 10, of Mrs. Joan Badham, aged 65, of Mayfield Acres, Ryelands Lane, Kilgetty.

Beloved wife of the late Phillip, dearly-loved mum of Mark and Trevor, treasured nan, and a much-loved sister.

Georgina Cheng (nee Alexander) passed away peacefully at The Duchess of Kent Hospice, Reading, on Monday, November 12.

Georgina was formerly of Mimosa, Swallowtree, Saundersfoot, and was pre-deceased by her father Angus, survived by her husband Ray, sons Alexander, Benjamin and Jenson, mum Hilary and sister Joanna.

The funeral service will take place at St. James' Church, Manorbier, on Friday, November 23, at 1 pm, followed by private family interment.

The death occurred peacefully on Wednesday, November 7, at Torbay Hospital, of Mr. Ronald Alan Harvey, of Chudleigh, North Devon, formerly of Robeston Wathen.

Beloved husband of the late Connie and a dear father of Ian, Keith, Malcolm and Duncan.

MR. W. H. THOMAS

WHITLAND

The funeral took place recently of Mr. William Henry Thomas, of Little Pale Farm, Ciffig, Whitland, who passed away on October 5, at Plas Y Dderwen Nursing Home, Johnstown, Carmarthen. He was 94.

Known as Harry, he was born and lived in Whitland for 92 years, and was a lifelong farmer, having taken over from his father before him.

Harry dedicated the majority of his time to his family farm, the place he loved the most, altough he did enjoy other activities and interests.

He was a keen bee keeper and honey extractor for many years, he also enjoyed travelling, having visited Canada and the USA three times, as well as Switzerland.

Harry enjoyed meeting people and socialising as well as listening to Welsh singing. He was a lifelong member until its closure of Bwlchgwynt Chapel, Ciffig.

He was a true family man, proud of his home and roots.

Predeceased by his wife Mrs. Joan Elizabeth Thomas in 1998, he leaves to mourn Mary and Alwyn (daughter and son-in-law), Malcolm and Ruth (son and partner), Gillian and Phillip (daughter and son-in-law), Sylvia and David (daughter and son-in-law), Berwyn and Mary (son and daughter-in-law), Sharron and Richard, Matthew and Elaina, Helen and Paul, Martyn, Kim and Kieran, Nicola and Jack (grandchildren and husbands/partners), Sarra, Aaron, Danielle, Adam, Dylan and Maisy (great-grandchildren), Becky, Emma, Michael, Jack, Molly and Carry (step grand and great-grandchildren).

A service for immediate family members took place at Zoar Chapel of Rest in Llanteg, with a public service held at Ciffig Church, Whitland, on October 15, conducted by Rev. Kinsley Taylor.

A tribute was also written by grandchildren Sharron and Matthew.

Bearers were David Thomas, Andrew Harry, Colin Beynon and Michael Gardner.

Principal mourners were: Mary and Alwyn (daughter and son-in-law), Malcolm and Ruth (son and partner), Gillian and Phillip (daughter and son-in-law), Sylvia and David (daughter and son-in-law), Berwyn and Mary (son and daughter-in-law), Sharron and Richard, Matthew and Elaina, Helen and Paul, Martyn, Kim and Kieran, Nicola and Jack (grandchildren and husbands/partners), Sarra and Aaron (great-grandchildren), Mansel (brother), David, Margret, May and Novella (nieces and nephews), along with many other family, friends and neighbours, too numerous to mention.

TEMPLETON

A large congregation of family and friends gathered at St. John's Church, Templeton, on October 17, to offer thanksgiving for the life of Mavis Gwendoline Selina Davies.

Mavis died suddenly on October 6, at Withybush Hospital, Haverfordwest. She was 84 and had recently been residing at Woodland Lodge, Gumfreston.

Mavis was born at the Rising Sun Farm, Templeton, where she lived until her retirement.

She was a quietly spoken, loving soul, whose greatest pleasures were her husband Hubert, the bringing up of her family and her work on the farm. In later life, she took great pride in her three grandchildren.

For many years, she also took an active part in St. John's Church, including being the church organist.

Mavis was predeceased by her husband Hubert and daughter Dorothy, but is survived by her daughter Ruth and son Stephen.

The service was conducted the the Rev. Peter Lewis, who was assisted by the Rev. Graham Lloyd, a former incumbent at St. John's, and Miss Judith Francis.

A tribute to Mavis was paid by the Rev. Michael Rowlands, also a former incumbent at St. John's.

The chief mourners were: Ruth and Steven Price (daughter and son-in-law), Stephen and Debbie Davies (son and daughter-in-law), Amy, Adam and Lauren (grandchildren), Joan Cole, Irene, Lance and Edward Davies.

The church was beautifully decorated with flowers arranged by Mrs. Mair Bowen and Mrs. Gill Mallin.

There were floral tributes from Ruth and Steven Price, Stephen and Debbie Davies, Amy, Adam and Lauren Davies, Molly and Ron Cook and family, Irene, Lance Davies and family.

Bearers were Messrs. Stephen Davies, Steven Price, Adam Davies and Robert May.

Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to St. John's Church, and are kindly being received by Mrs. Mair Bowen, of Menai House, Station Road, Kilgetty.

The organist was Mrs. Norma Lewis and refreshments were provided in the church hall by Mrs. Janet Mathias.

Carew Cheriton

The death occurred peacefully at Tenby Cottage Ward, Park House Court, on Thursday, November 8, of Mrs. Joan McCready.

She was aged 89 and lived at Southview, Carew Cheriton.

She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

As reported last week, Mrs. Hilda Maragret Davies, of 11 Merlins Court, The Norton, Tenby, passed away peacefully at Withybush Hospital on Friday, November 2. Keith and Ruth were at her bedside.

The funeral service will be held today (Friday) at St. Mary's Church, Tenby, at 12 noon, followed by cremation at Parc Gwyn, Narberth, at 1 pm.

In accordance with Hilda's wishes, there will be family flowers only and no donations in lieu.
