TENBY

The funeral took place at St. Mary's Church, Tenby, on April 27, of Mrs. Beryl Doris Tebbutt (nee Richards), of Broadwell Hayes, Tenby, who passed away at Withybush Hospital, Haverfordwest, on April 17. She was 81.

She married her husband Mick in Tenby, whom she met whilst he served with the RA stationed in Manorbier. They moved to Northampton, but later returned to Tenby in 1968.

Beryl loved the harbour community in Tenby and loved being at sea, fishing with family and friends on one of the boats owned by her husband. She was a skilled fisher woman, often leaving her sons in awe.

Beryl could also often be found supporting Tenby United with her bag of pic-n-mix. She also liked to think she was an accomplished darts player.

Family and friends will remember her wicked sense of humour, which could often be seen displayed at the Tenby Carnivals along with her close friends.

She served as a committee member of TS Tenby Sea Cadets and in recent years became a life member of the Day Centre at Tenby Cottage Hospital, which came to form an important part of her daily life.

Beryl dearly loved her sons and family and had a special place in her heart for each of her grandchildren.

Predeceased by her loving husband Mick, mother and father Reggie and Nellie, brother Gordon, sisters Jean, Pam and Jill, she leaves to mourn her son Mike and daughter-in-law Ruth, son Nick and daughter-in-law Elaine, brother Ian, and grandchildren Rhiannon, Bethan, Matthew, Richard and Charlotte.

The funeral service at St. Mary's Church, Tenby, was followed by cremation at Parc Gwyn, Narberth.

Floral tributes were received from Mike and Ruth; Nick and Elaine; Rhiannon and Lewis; Bethan and Mathew; Matthew, Richard and Charlotte.

The family would like to thank W. and M. J. Rossiter and Sons for their kindness and professionalism, and also all friends, neighbours and colleagues for their cards and kindness A special thank you also to the staff of the Day Centre at Tenby Cottage Hospital and all the staff on the Coronary Care Unit at Withybush Hospital.

KILGETTY

The funeral took place at Parc Gwyn Crematorium, narberth, on April 28, of Mrs. Elizabeth Kitson Rodger, of 8 Oaktree Court, Kilgetty, who passed away at Withybush Hospital, Haverfordwest, on April 17. She was 83.

A native of Wishaw, Lanarkshire in Scotland, Mrs. Rodgers spent most of her working life as a medical secretary.

She leaves to mourn her sons Stirling Rodger and Mathieson Rodger.

The funeral was conducted by Rosie Taylor.

Bearers were Graham Thomas, Terry Brace, Arthur Evans and Gavin Wright.

MRS. J. COX

SAUNDERSFOOT

The funeral took place at Parc Gwyn Crematorium, Narberth, recently, of Mrs. Joyce Cox, who passed away at Pencoed Residential Home, Wooden, on March 29. Formerly of Incline Way, Saundersfoot, she was 92.

A native of Nottingham, Joyce started work aged 14 at a solicitors in her home town, before joining the Automobile Association and then the Civil Service during the War years, in particular working for National Savings and later accountants and law firms, all in a secretarial capacity. She retired from the Civil Service during the 1970s.

Joyce's main interests included gardening, sewing, walking, photography, visiting stately homes and gardens, and spending happy times with family and friends.

Predeceased by her husband Douglas Fredrick Cox in August 2006, they had been married for 66 years and had received two telegrams from HM The Queen, of which they were very proud.

She is survived by her daughters Jennifer and Hilary, sons-in-law Derek and Geoff, nephew Edward and his wife Christine, great-nephew Ian, great-nephew Robert and his wife Alison and son Ethan, nephews and nieces Stephen, Judith, Margaret and John.

The funeral was conducted by Rev. Donald Pope and Rev. Kenneth Sharpe.

Bearers were Graham, Terry, Arthur and John.

Principal mourners were: Jennifer and Derek Shaw, Hilary and Geoff Harvey, Edward and Christine Jones, Robert and Alison Jones, Ian Jones, Stephen Cox, Judith Kitchineman, Rev. Kenneth Sharpe, Rev. Donald and Marie Pope (friends of Joyce), Hilary and Henry Fullick, Harold James, Alan Cloake, Sue, Amanda and Denise, of Pencoed Residential Home.

MR. P. R. SMITH

Whitland

(formerly of

Lampeter Velfrey)

The funeral took place recently of Mr. Phillip Roger Smith, of 60 Maes Abaty, Spring Gardens, Whitland, and formerly of Lampeter Velfrey.

Aged 39, Roger passed away at Withybush Hospital, Haverfordwest, on April 20.

A native of Lampeter Velfrey, he began his working life on a Youth Training Scheme with Mason Tool Hire in Narberth, and then on Skomer Island.

He then started his career working with Glyn Williams at Folly Farm, Begelly. Roger had been at Folly Farm from the beginning when they started by milking the cows and played a big part in the development of the farm and also the zoo and was also present to welcome the newest arrivals, the giraffes.

Roger was a keen Scarlets and Wales rugby fan. He was a regular at Stradey Park, the Millennium Stadium and was also present at the opening of Parc y Scarlets.

Roger enjoyed cycling and last year took part and completed the 116-mile tour of Pembrokeshire to raise funds for the Wales Air Ambulance.

Family left to mourn are Brian and Anne Smith (father and mother), Hazel and Paul Evans (sister and brother-in-law), David and Hannah Smith (brother and sister-in-law), Angela Thomas (fiancée), Eileen Griffiths (grandmother), Ffion and Elin Evans, Megan Smith (nieces).

The funeral service took place at Parc Gwyn Crematorium on Monday, April 27. The service was conducted by Chancellor Geoffrey Morris, while Rev. Elwyn John paid a personal tribute to Roger and Roger's lifetime friend, Rebecca Ward, read a poem.

The bearers were Peter Thomas, Chris Ebsworth, Mike Davies, John Jones, Tony Williams and Kevin Nicholls were all workmates of Roger from Folly Farm.

There were family floral tributes from Brian and Anne Smith, Hazel and Paul Evans and David and Hannah Smith, Angela Thomas, Eileen Griffiths, Ffion, Elin and Megan, Robert, Anne-Marie, Gethin and Sion Benjamin and Tudor and Janet Thomas.

Principal mourners were: Brian and Anne Smith (father and mother); Hazel and Paul Evans (sister and brother-in-law); David and Hannah Smith (brother and sister-in-law); Angela Thomas (fiancée); Eileen Griffiths (grandmother); Tudor and Janet Thomas (Angela's mother and father); Ffion and Elin Evans and Megan Smith (nieces); Robert and Ann-Marie Benjamin and Malcolm and Heather Smith (uncles and aunts); Gethin and Sion Benjamin and Isobel and Philip Bowen (cousins). There were also many family and friends too numerous to mention.

Unable to attend were Roger's godparents Peter and Judy Ellis from Hong Kong.

The death occurred peacefully at Park House Court Nursing Home, Tenby, on Tuesday, of Mrs. Audrey Elizabeth Graham Allen (nee Cole). She was aged 82.

Audrey was formerly of Saundersfoot and will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

The funeral service will take place on Thursday at Thomas Memorial Church, Saundersfoot, at 12.30 pm, followed by committal at Sardis Congregational Chapel, Saundersfoot.

There has been a request for no mourning and no black ties please.

The death occurred at Withybush Hospital, Haverfordwest, on Wednesday, of Mr. William Edward Birch, of The Firs, Sandyhill Road, Saundersfoot. He was 94.

Ted is survived by his wife Irene, daughter Sandra, son-in-law Allan and grandson Steven.

The death occurred peacefully at Withybush General Hospital, Haverfordwest, on Monday, of Mrs. Daisy Allen, of Milford Haven, formerly of Nash Place, Saundersfoot. She was aged 84.

Funeral to be held at Parc Gwyn Crematorium on Monday at 3.30 pm, with the cortege leaving the house at 2 pm.

Family flowers only, but donations in lieu to Ward 11 at Withybush Hospital would be appreciated.

Llawhaden

Mrs. Phyllis Daniel (widow of Iorrie Daniel), formerly of 2 The Glebe, Tenby, and Haverfordwest, passed away on Friday, May 1, at Castle View, Llawhaden.

The funeral will take place at Parc Gwyn, Narberth, on Tuesday, May 12, at 4 pm.

She was 85 and is survived by her son Chris, former pupil of Greenhill School, her daughter-in-law Allannah and her brother Richard.
