The Pembrokeshire Harriers are sporting new vests this week thanks to Wales' top theme park Oakwood.

The Park has donated the new kit to the 180 strong club following the merger of Preseli Harriers with Cleddau Athletic earlier this year.

Said Pembrokeshire Harriers Coach Pete Freeman: "We are delighted with this generous donation and are very happy to be associated with Oakwood Park."

The young Pembrokeshire athletes are enjoying a good season so far with a number of fine performances and personal bests boosting the club's profile.

At the Junior League U13-U20 boys/girls meet in Carmarthen, they achieved 2nd qualifying position behind Carmarthen Harriers after beating Swansea. One more good performance will automatically qualify the Harriers.

At the Senior League meet in Aberdare, the women raced to victory in the 4x400 relay event and there were many fine performances through excellent team spirit from an under strength senior side.

In the Louise Arthur League meet at Neath, the young Harriers inflicted the first defeat on Carmarthen in six years, winning both the boys and girls sections and proving just how a full strength team of talented local athletes can compete with the best in Wales.

The Pembrokeshire Harriers, who train at Sir Thomas Picton in Haverfordwest and the Bush Leisure Centre in Pembroke, comprises athletes of all abilities from nine years old and upwards. If you would like to join, telephone Pete Freeman on 01437 765603.
