The tenant of a council flat in Tenby was evicted last week after causing nuisance to his neighbours. Alex Frew, who had been a tenant of the flat at 4 Regency Court, for over seven years, was ordered to leave the property after he had allowed visitors to use his property to cause a nuisance by creating excessive noise, often in the early hours of the morning. There were also recorded incidents where visitors had also abused or assaulted a neighbour. Pembrokeshire County Council pursued the case despite an appeal heard at Swansea County Court. The action taken was the result of joint working between Dyfed-Powys Police, housing officers from the council's tenancy management team and environmental health officers from the authority's public protection division, which enabled statements to be gathered and monitoring of noise levels from the property to take place. This is the sixth county council tenant to be evicted from their council home for causing neighbour nuisance or anti-social behaviour in the last 12 months. This follows the establishment of a team of housing officers in the county to deal with issues where a breach of conditions of tenancy have occurred.
