A non-stop dance fundraiser held in Tenby recently has given a boost to Cancer Research UK.

Tenby Leisure Centre's 'Zumbathon', which was held in the main hall on Sunday, October 28, raised a magnificent £1,022.94 for the charity.

Event organiser and Zumba instructor Sharon Lloyd got the party started, with approximately 40 participants taking part in three hours of non-stop Latin inspired dance fitness, between 10 am and 1 pm.

"We couldn't be more thrilled by the total raised and by the efforts made by those who danced non-stop to the Merengue, Salsa, Flamenco and Cumbia for three hours," said Sharon.

Cancer Research UK spends hundreds of millions of pounds on research into diagnosing, preventing and treating cancer. As well as thanks to Sharon and staff at Tenby Leisure Centre, special thanks also go to - Amber Rich, Zumba/fitness instructor at Simply Balance, Narberth, for her fun and exciting routines, keeping the participants motivated and moving; 'Steve Briers World Famous Disco Road Show' for providing a sound and disco light system; Katherine Devonald for being DJ and compere on the day and for all the hard work in helping to ensure the success of the event; Tees 'R' Us for printing T-shirts and for their fast service and delivery; Sainsburys for donating much-needed energising fruit and juice; Greenhill Community Education for the staging; and to all the participants who exercised for three hours non-stop!
