Sir,

I have followed with interest the correspondence regarding the problem of school children and the summer traffic arrangements.

There is no problem. Hasn't anyone heard of the town bus service?

Until very recently my six-year-old grandson, a pupil at Tenby Infants School, was living in Cresswell Street. My daughter used to catch a bus on the parade to take him to school. She left his return bus fare with his teacher. At the end of the afternoon a teacher puts a little group of children on the bus which stops at the school gate. She pays the fares for the group and the bus driver sees that none of the children get off the bus before they should. The mothers wait on the Parade and collect their children and they then have a short walk home.

I know my grandson thoroughly enjoyed the grown-up experience of riding on the bus with his friends.

The traffic in Heywood Lane is chaotic between 3 and 3.30 pm and with a little thought quite a few of those cars need not be there.
