Gold star for PE
Ysgol Greenhill School has finished top of the class after their work in PE received a glowing report.
Sport Wales and the Association for Physical Education (AfPE) are championing schools which recognise the importance of PE.
All schools can apply for ActiveMarc Cymru and this year, 42 schools from across Wales have sailed through.
ActiveMarc Cymru endorses schools that are committed to developing high quality physical education and school sport and for promoting the benefits of physical activity.
Chair of Sport Wales, Professor Laura McAllister, said: "We believe that schools play an essential role in building a Wales in which children are hooked on sport for life.
"It is important that young people have positive early experiences of sport and physical activity that build a foundation for lifelong involvement in sport. This award recognises those schools that are giving our children an excellent start."
Greenhill School headteacher, Mrs. Jan Kingston, said: "I am thrilled that our school has had the Active Marc Cymru Award renewed.
"Gaining the award three years ago had a massive impact on pupils and staff attitudes to sports, games and Physical Education across our school.
"The uptake of extra-curricular and 5X60 activities has increased, the uptake of PE as a subject choice in both KS4 and KS5 has also increased along with community confidence in the provision we offer.
"All this provision comes from the dedication, hard work and commitment of a strong team - not just our PE staff, but a whole host of individuals in our school who support and promote our programmes.
"To retain our Active Marc Cymru for a second year rewards the enthusiasm, engagement and enjoyment of all pupils in a active and healthy lifestyle," she added.
A spokesperson for the Association for Physical Education said: "There is strong evidence that children who receive high quality physical education within curriculum time, build a firm basis for future participation and achievement; and also do better in the rest of their schooling."
Sue Wilkinson, strategic lead for the Association for Physical Education, commented: "It is good to see that schools which make high quality provision for physical education also report higher achievement across the school, in other subjects, but also in behaviour, attendance and retention. The ActiveMarc Award recognises this vital contribution to school life and children's education. Physical Education in schools is a great investment!"

St. David's Day Eisteddfod
Once again the St. David's Day Eisteddfod at Ysgol Greenhill was a great success, with 'Gwaun' being crowned overall winners for 2014.
Compered jointly by Mr. Matthew Davies and Mr. Jonathan Evans, pupils enjoyed the opportunity to compete in a variety of different on and off-stage competitions.
Grateful thanks were extended to the adjudicators for the day, Miss Esyllt Davies, Mr. Mark Griffiths and Mr. Ben Cole.
The afternoon began with the chairing ceremony. This year, the Eisteddfod chair was won by Molly Lewis, a year 11 pupil. Da iawn Molly!
All departments contributed towards the day and the Welsh Department would like to thank all concerned for their support. Diolch o galon i bawb.
