NEW TERM

Students have been back at school for a few weeks now and settling in well. Most of the after-school activities are up and running, including drama, 5x60, surf, orchestras etc. For more information, check out the website or call reception. Please check out the diary of dates included in this column - a full diary of events for the year will be published and issued to students within the next week.

LOST PROPERTY

There are always several items of lost property in reception. If the item does have a name written in it, staff will always get that item returned to the proper owner. If no name is visible, they hold these items for one term only and then they are given to charity.

There are several pieces of uniform from last year, both lost property and donations. If any parent would like to acquire anything for a small donation please call at reception.

FOG

The school's parent/teacher association, Friends of Greenhill, meets on the first Wednesday of each month. Anyone is welcome (not just parents) to go along and help. They fund raise for extra items which enhance the school or the students' education.

This term, they are promoting the '200 Club', 'Gift Aid Donations' and the 'Personal Accident Insurance' as their main fund-raisers.

Letters with information on these items will be sent home in the next few weeks.

They will also promote the main school grand draw - tickets will be on sale soon, please consider the benefits the school gets from your support. The draw will take place on Monday, October 20.

Lower school awards evening - early October (to be confirmed); school grand draw - Monday, October 20; Open Evening - October 23; Inset Day - October 24; Monday-Friday, October 27-31 - half term; governors annual meeting for parents - Tuesday, December 9; Year 10 parents evening - Wednesday, December 10; Christmas concert - Thursday, December 11; upper school awards evening - December 18; last day of term - Friday, December 19 (buses at 1.45 pm).
