Lucy Morris (pictured), a Year 11 drama student, having already appeared in a locally produced film and on television, has this week been accepted into the National Youth Theatre of Wales. During the Easter holidays, she auditioned, along with thousands of other hopefuls, and was one of the youngest to apply. She will spend three weeks of the summer holidays doing intensive rehearsing in Aberystwyth, before touring with the company throughout Wales. Break a leg Lucy!

Year 13 Drama and Theatre Studies   Charlie Batten, Lucy Liddell and Rhian Smith put on a presentation of Jim Cartwright's play 'Two' on Thursday, April 10, for the practical component of their drama and theatre studies course. The play allows actors to take on a multitude of roles, thus allowing the students to demonstrate their versatile acting skills. Charlie played the parts of The Landlord, Old Man, The Woman and Little Boy. Lucy played both The Landlord and Landlady, as did Rhian, as well as Moth and Mr. Iger. Rhian, as well as the two parts mentioned, played Maudie and Mrs. Iger. They gave very impressive performances and each gained an A grade for this important part of the exam. Well done and good luck for the summer exam papers!

ESTYN INSPECTION

Greenhill School will be inspected next week (Monday-Thursday). Thank you to all parents who attended the recent meeting at school with the inspector. This was very useful. Thanks also to all those who returned their questionnaires. The information gained will be used by the inspectors to help them in their judgements. The inspection team aim to visit all teachers' classes at least once during the week, as well as talking to staff, governors and students and observing throughout the school. Therefore, your child may well be involved at some time. The school has been a hive of activity in preparation over the past few weeks and hopefully looks forward to a favourable report. A summary of the report, giving an outline of the inspectors' findings, will be prepared and issued to parents after the conclusion of the inspection.
