Held last Wednesday, May 16, Mr. Chris Noble (head) welcomed students and guests to the Progress File Presentation at the De Valence, Tenby. Everyone was delighted to see so many students attending to help celebrate their last day of school before their GCSE exams started the following morning. An ex-pupil, Mr. Phil Williams, group property director of the Associate British Ports, was the guest speaker, who very kindly travelled from Penarth to attend. He spoke of his admiration of the students who had entertained at the presentation event and of his days at Greenhill, having left in 1975 after A- Levels. Year 11 student Kirsty McLean presented him with a Greenhill School shield. Two students, Megan David and Katy Izzard, were also presented with their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award certificates. Entertainment was provided by Year 11 students, Lauren Keating, Kirsty McLean, Jo Ayris, Rebecca Lees-Griffiths, Charlotte Treharne, Vicki Ward, Kim Brickell, Litona Harries, William Edwards, James Lewis, Robert Godwin and Tom Horton. The jazz band, under the direction of Mr. Paul Rapi, entertained the audience before and during the presentation. Parents were invited to stay for refreshments after the presentation when a cake, beautifully decorated with the school logo, made by Deco Cake, of Pembroke Dock, was served. Greenhill would like to thank the students for their enthusiasm and commitment to the day, also recognising the grateful help given by sixth form student Joel Rees, Mrs. Rapi and her Year 10 students, who acted as ushers and took notes ready for next year, the De Valence, Four Seasons, Mr. C. Perkins, Kilgetty Co-operative store, and, of course, Mr. Williams.
ART AWARD
Each year, the Rotary Club of Saundersfoot give an award to students studying A-Level art. This year, they nominated A-Level student Annie Brougham and AS-Level student Emily Ruff, with runner-up awards to Pru Brooker, Natasha Turton and Jenna Jackson. The club members and Mrs. Diana Roberts, head of art, are seen beside the work of Annie Brougham after deliberating their choices. The girls were unavailable on the day the Rotary Club visited, so are pictured separately. Congratulations to all the winning students and good luck to the A2-Level students in their future studies.
