As part of their XL Club programme, students were asked to carry out a community based project. The following Year 10 students, Heidi Watkins, Kye Bradbury, Barrie John and Arran Peniket, baked and delivered cherry scones to four local businesses in Tenby. The Tenby Observer, the Police Station, Lowless and Lowless Solicitors and Jones and Jones Solicitors all received scones. Congratulations to the four students who have worked very hard.

GWERSYLL LLANGRANOG

Hwyl a sbri yn y gwersyll ger y lli!! A group of Year 7 pupils accompanied by teachers and nine Sixth Form 'swogs' went to the Urdd Camp in Llangrannog for a three-day visit last week. The pupils had a great time and participated in many outdoor activities such as skiing, horse riding and squad biking. They also had to work and took part in many different language courses and even managed to produce a newspaper about their stay in Llangrannog. Wythnos i'w chofio!

GLANLLYN

Mr. Alun Owens, a representative of the Urdd camp in Glanllyn (North Wales), visited Greenhill on Friday, February 7. Pupils from Years 7, 8 and 9 were given information about the camp in North Wales, and were shown the activities on offer there. Many were tempted by various activities such as gorge walking, rock climbing, abseiling and ten-pin bowling. The camp runs courses throughout the school holidays for both Welsh speaker and learners. Diolch yn fawr Alun.

RUGBY

On January 23, the 1st XV played TGP. It was a very hard-fought match with a great first try by Greenhill combining all the backs in a typical 'training ground' move. A brilliant burst of pace gave Tom Dennis two breakaway tries. At half-time the score was 21-7 to Greenhill.

Greenhill played against the wind in the second half and they struggled to keep possession. Too many handling errors allowed TGP back into the game. Jonathan Morris was sin-binned for killing the ball and with the extra man, TGP took advantage and it paid off when they finished victors in a very tight game played on a very boggy pitch.

Squad: Rupert Fleming, Jonny Lane, Ben Evans, Jonathan Morris, Richard Prout, Alex Jenkins, Sam Smith, Steven Ive, Tom Dennis, Nick Thomas, Gareth Renault, James Brown (capt.), Phil Spindlove, Tom Dinnan, Aled Griffiths, Chris Stillwell, Matthew Davies.

On January 28, the 1st XV played Sir Thomas Picton at home. Tom Dennis scored early in the first half after breaking through the STP defensive line. Ben Evans and Jonathan Morris were dominant in the forwards, with Ben Evans' lineout work along with Alex Jenkins winning a great deal of ball.

STP scored early in the second half, but missed the subsequent conversion and a penalty, squandering the chance to take the lead.

Phil Spindlove missed the try-line by inches, before going off with a blood injury.

James Brown dished out the big hits, before scoring the winning try after going through many STP players and battling his way over the line.

It was a hard-fought victory which everyone, including coaches Mr. Matthew Davies and Mr. Alun Bartlett, enjoyed, the final score being 12-5.
