Boost for British Diabetic Association

A cheque for £550 was presented to the British Diabetic Association by the Mayor of Tenby, Clr. Trevor Hallett, this week, a gift from his Charitable Fund.

Certificate for town crier

Oyez! Oyez! Oyez! Tenby's John Thomas has been presented with a certificate by Mayor, Clr. Trevor Hallett, commemorating his 25th anniversary as Town Crier.

Coastguard thanked

Mayor of Tenby, Clr. Trevor Hallett, has thanked the town's auxiliary coastguard team for their service to the town. At a quarterly meeting of the council on Tuesday night, he presented Station Officer, Mike Day, with a town tie.

St. Florence burglary

Police are investigating a burglary at Greenhills Hotel, St. Florence. The incident occurred on Saturday night and anyone who saw anything suspicious or has information is asked to contact Tenby police station on 0845 330 2000.

Toddler injured

Whilst visiting Caldey Island with her parents last Wednesday afternoon, a three-year-old girl stumbled and fell against a rough wall hurting her face which bled profusely. She was attended on scene by one of the monks, with medical experience, and by the Caldey Island coastguard. However, because of her injuries, she returned to the mainland by one of the passenger boats and was met by the Tenby coastguard unit. She and her parents were then taken to the local cottage hospital where her wounds were dressed. The girl from Snodland, Kent, was released and was able to continue her holiday.

Cut free

One person was cut free from a vehicle involved in a road traffic collision on Tuesday night by firefighters from Tenby using hydraulic cutting equipment. The one-vehicle accident occurred near Park House Court Nursing Home on the Tenby to New Hedges road at 8.15 pm. Two fire appliances from the town, together with ambulance and police attended.
