The 2420 squadron of air cadets meet every Monday and Friday at their base in Whitland.

Regular fund-raising events are held, one of which was a sponsored walk around the seven-and-a-half miles of the perimeter of Llysyfran.

Ninteen air cadets attended and completed the walk along with several parents and civilian committee members.

The day was perfect for the walk as it was a sunny day, but a little overcast. Everyone completed the walk in good form and without injury or mishap and then went on to enjoy the barbecue that had been organised at the base of the dam. The water for the event was kindly donated by Princes Gate Water. This was a harmonious and happy event which raised in the region of £500.

The next fund-raising event will be on August 27 and takes the form of a treasure hunt which will start at the squadron headquarters in Whitland. The entry price will be £5 per car and the time of departure will be 5 pm; the last car will depart no later than 6 pm. There will be a raffle, for which the first prize is a meal for two at the Iron Duke, Clunderwen. The second prize is a £10 voucher, kindly donated by Clynderwen Farmers Co-op. There will be a barbecue after the treasure hunt.
