Pupils taking part in a dance workshop at Tavernspite School.
Early Years
This term, Early Years have been learning about Divali, and had a wonderful Divali party. For the big assembly, on Wednesday, November 24, they performed a lovely dance. On Thursday, an Indian lady came to school and she showed us how to make animals with our hands.
Class 1
This term, Class 1 have been learning about the Gruffalo, so they have been acting out part of the story. Then they decided to make little models from the story. They also decided to make some puppets and masks. When it was Bonfire Night, Class 1 did an excellent play of Guy Fawkes which they all really enjoyed.
Class 2
Michael in Class 2 made some cakes and biscuits for Children in Need, which were all really tasty, and he raised over £70. Class 2 have been making some lovely Batik patterns, with lovely bright colours.
Class 3
Harry in Class 3 has been very lucky in the county schools' swimming gala. He did well in the heats, coming first in his race. So he got into the final in the squad relay, but unluckily he only came fourth, but the main thing is that he was able to take part.
Class 4
Kate Marsden came first in the heats and sixth overall in the county swimming gala in Swansea. Class 4 made a survey of all the pupils who would buy raisins and most people wanted to buy raisins at fruit tuck shop. So Class 4 will be selling raisins for a week. Class 5
Class 5 have been thinking about a healthy heart and doing lots of work like drawing posts of a healthy heart. We also encouraged people to have a heart and to give to Blue Peter and Children in Need. We have many exciting events in the next few weeks. Watch this space!
Class 6
Edward Phillips is about to take his Grade Four test on the trumpet. Good luck. Edward Phillips, Owen Davies, George Griffiths and Charlie Williams came first in the squad relay at the school's gala. General
On Thursday, November 18, a lady came from India Dance Wales and gave us a performance. The dance was called Bharat Nalym Dance. So in the afternoon we had a workshop on the dance, which was lovely and really good fun. So thank you for the time you spent with us. On Wednesday, November 24, Tavernspite School was awarded the Bronze Award for litter and waste and biodiversity. On November 11, some pupils from the school went to the Narberth Remembrance Service where they laid a poppy wreath. Those attended were Rees Jackson, Amiee Hughes, Daniel Hughes, Llyr Ebsworth, Holly Bevan, Lucy John, Jessica Davies and Quaid Scourfield. Some pupils went to the county schools swimming gala in Narberth Swimming Pool. They did very well. Two weeks ago, there was a run in Oakwood Park. It was really good fun and everyone enjoyed it lots and lots. The Lower Juniors ran one mile and the Upper Juniors ran a mile-and-a-half, which was good. The sports teams have been doing very well lately. For the football team, the captains are Stuart White for the A team and Jack Hugget for the B team. For the netball team it is Florence Bowen-Rees for the A team and Bethan Davies for the B team, then for the mixed team it is Florence again. The netball team has just played against Narberth. The A team won, the B team lost and the mixed won. For the rugby, the captain is Charlie Williams. When they played against Narberth, the rugby team drew 0-0. When the football team played against Narberth, the A team lost and so did the B team.
