Welsh Wonders
The Cerdd Dant group from Tavernspite School won the Pembrokeshire County Urdd Eisteddfod held in Fishguard. The group then went on to the National Finals in Cardiff and came third in the competition. They performed on the stage of the Millennium Centre and their performance was televised on S4C. PUPILS TAKE TO ROAD TO HELP THOSE AT SEA
Pupils from Tavernspite School took to the road to help people at sea earlier this term.
More than 70 pupils, parents, grandparents, teachers and supporters took part in either a 13 or seven mile sponsored walk to raise funds for the RNLI.
The sponsor money is still coming in and a considerable amount has been raised. A special mention to Year 4 pupil, Carys Morgan, and her grandfather, Peter, who together raised £300.
"We were really pleased with the turnout considering the weather wasn't very good and everyone enjoyed completing what is a pretty challenging course," said PTA chairman Rupal Naik.
This is the third annual sponsored walk the school has organised and in the past two years it has raised almost £3,000 which was split between the school's PTA and local charities.
For the first time, the school's infants also took part this year completing the Trailblazers Toddle around the school playing field.
