This competition brings together both big and small schools from the local area. The football competition saw all eight schools play each other, with the St. Teilo's boy's team winning the small schools' competition and coming second overall.

The girl's netball team played seven matches, won two and lost five, however this was most encouraging as it was largely a very young team. Well done all!

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD

Children and parents of St. Teilo's joined the national initiative by the Samaritan's Purse to fill shoebox Christmas parcels. Operation Christmas Child aims to give hope to children caught in the midst of wars, natural disasters and extreme poverty, by showing them that they have not been forgotten. Meryl Sharpe visited the school and chatted to the children before collecting the boxes on behalf of local organiser Betty Charnock.

CROSS COUNTRY

Many pupils from St. Teilo's participated in the Pembrokeshire Schools Cross Country held at Oakwood. All had great fun and enjoyed the afternoon out, but two boys did particularly well. Ben Rees came ninth out of 140 in Year 4 Boys and Billy Truman came first in Year 5 Boys. Congratulations to all who took part.

CRUCIAL CREW

Class 4 attended the annual Crucial Crew event in Haverfordwest. Designed by the combined emergency services, the day was filled with activities designed to raise awareness of issues surrounding general and personal safety. As there are plenty of 'hands on' activities the event is full of fun as well as useful information and was thoroughly enjoyed by all!

ANTI-BULLYING CONFERENCE

The school council members of Classes 3 and 4 recently travelled to Haverfordwest to meet other councillors from all over the county and attend an Anti-Bulling Conference. It was a very interesting day and very useful to share ideas and strategies of help and support. Discussing these issues will help the councillors to develop these ideas back in their own schools through the school council.

ARMISTICE DAY

To mark the anniversary of the signing of the armistice that ended World War 1 on November 11, 1918, Class 4 had a very special visit from Mrs. Annette Hollows, who brought in the diaries of a former nurse and soldier who both served during the war. The children were able to share the experiences, thoughts and feelings of the time, thanks to Mrs. Hollows, who read extracts from the diaries. Mrs. Nicholls and Class 4 are very grateful to Mrs. Hollows for bringing history to life in such a magical way.
