Christine Gwyther AM visited St. Oswald's School on Friday to collect 'buddies' as part of the Send My Friend To School Campaign. This is very much in the news, as the G8 Summit is due to discuss Third World Poverty. All of the classes created a 'Big Buddy' which they presented to Miss Gwyther. She in turn will ensure that these 'buddies' reach Tony Blair in Scotland. It is hoped that one million 'buddies' make it to the summit as representatives of the 100 million children all over the world who do not receive an education. Miss Gwyther had spent time with pupils in Class 4 earlier during the afternoon, answering questions relating to this very emotive subject matter.
