At the recent meeting of Penally Community Council, County Councillor for the ward Cllr Philip Kidney reported to members that complaints regarding the buses not travelling through the village at regular scheduled intervals had been received.

He explained to councillors that the service is being monitored.

Discussing maintenance of verges and hedgerows in the village, Cllr Kidney reported that he would define areas of responsibility of Pembrokeshire County Council, with the frequency of cuts to be reviewed.

Cllr Neal requested that the Community Council contractor be contacted to tend to the small garden areas at the East and West entrances to the village.

Cllr Mackie reported that quotes are being sought for the clearance of ground in the lower park to create a Pétanque (Boules) area.

A barbecue is planned for September 2, and the popular Sandcastle competition on the Penally end of the South Beach is planned from 12 noon on Sunday, August 13.

On considering feedback on the recent Long Course Weekend triathlon, Cllr Neal reported that comments had been received from residents and local businesses on concerns on the impact and disruption caused by the sporting event.

The Community Council wished to thank the community for the responses - both negative and positive, and details have been passed onto Pembrokeshire County Council.

The next meeting will take place on Wednesday, September 13.
