Parc Gwyn Crematorium in Narberth has been awarded an ‘Outstanding’ rating following its three-yearly inspection by the Federation of Burial and Cremation Authorities (FBCA).
The inspection assessed performance across eight key areas of service delivery, including operational procedures, statutory and regulatory compliance, quality of service, and the standard of facilities.
The inspector found a high level of compliance across all areas.
As a result, the crematorium has been awarded a Certificate of Compliance in recognition of its ongoing commitment to maintaining high standards in the provision of burial and cremation services.
Cllr Rhys Sinnett, Pembrokeshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Residents’ Services, said: "We are delighted with the result, which reflects the dedication and hard work of all team members at Parc Gwyn.
“Staff take great pride in providing a high-quality, dignified service for all, from administration and service provision to cremation operations and the upkeep of the grounds."
The inspection outcome highlights the crematorium's continued commitment to delivering compassionate, professional services and maintaining excellent facilities for the communities it serves.
Last year Parc Gwyn officially opened a wildflower memorial meadow to provide a natural and peaceful space for remembrance and reflection.
The meadow provides families with greater choice in where cremated remains can be interred, while introducing new memorial options to help commemorate loved ones in a tranquil setting.
Parc Gwyn Crematorium was opened in 1968 in response to public demand.
The crematorium gardens are set in rolling Pembrokeshire countryside at the head of a lawned, tree-lined valley dotted with rockeries and ornamental trees and shrubs.
The grounds of the crematorium are open 365 days of the year. The Chapel of Remembrance is situated at the opposite end of the crematorium building from the Main Chapel. It provides a place for visitors to display floral tributes, and to view the Book of Remembrance.
